It is distinctly not a vilification. In Western culture, we’re inundated with contradictory messages about death… It’s a natural aspect of life that we should embrace and be at peace with… but images of skulls and skeletons are almost always instruments of terror.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003ePerhaps more than any other culture, Mexico has so successfully turned depictions of death into objects of reverence, devotion, solemnity but also, positivity, playfulness and celebration.\u003cspan class=\"Apple-converted-space\"\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWe live in psychologically fraught times.
