THE INSPIRATION BEHIND THE ART:
We are excited to announce the release of a collaborative pack of valentines created by the talented team members at the Ravi Zupa Arts studio. This pack contains six different cards designed by Ravi Zupa, Attie Schuler, Jesse Jarldane, Strutting Phoenix, Evan Lorenzen, and Erin Sloan
The insides are blank and ready for your lovely message.
Here’s what we have to say about each unique design:
Ravi (Fond of You): These two enjoy each other's company a great deal. They're expressing their fondness for each other... They're cats.
Attie (I Got You Flowers): Have you ever been to the grocery store on Valentine's Day or the eve of the Valentine's? I absolutely love seeing the scramble to snag some flowers for loved ones! I'm a fan of Valentine's Day and all of it's whimsical motifs, colors, and the giving of small gifts. I made this poppy floral design by carving linoleum and block printing layers of colors.
Jesse (Partners in Crime): I love how cats get into trouble. They have a wonderful sense of curiosity, playfulness and adventurous spirit. I also love seeing how cats get into funny scenarios together. I got into an internet video wormhole of cats getting stuck in trees with their cat friends, and that was the inspiration for this. To get out there, explore and do daring or adventurous things with your partner in crime.
Strutting Phoenix (El Corazón): When I was a kid I remember playing La Lotería with my family. The caller would draw a character card and say its name, and we used pinto beans to mark that character on our board in order to complete a pattern. What brought me back to that game is the song “La Lotería” by Los Tigres del Norte in which they interpret that game through modern contexts. Those two ideas are what drove me to make my own character card.
Evan (Love You So Mush): I originally illustrated this mushroom design for a pack of miniature 2-inch-tall valentines that I created back in 2023. I decided to rework it for our 2026 collaborative valentines pack because I enjoyed the design and it seemed like a fun challenge to try to rework the image for a larger scale with a new color palette and more texture.
Erin (Hanging Out): This card was made for a less traditional Valentine's aesthetic. I was inspired by hanging out with my lovely partner, of course.
Love! The Ravi Zupa Arts' Team!
