THE INSPIRATION BEHIND THE ART:

This is a drawing of a cat that has caught a snake, a dragon, and a peacock.

The words on this piece come from chapter 35 of the Tao Te Ching. Which is a very old Chinese book describing the underlying nature of the Universe. It is one of the most important philosophical texts in the history of the world and it’s influence can be found everywhere.

The original words are in Chinese and there are many, many translations that differ a great deal.

Here are the words as they appear on this poster:

"Those that are centered can go where they wish without danger

They perceive the universal harmony even amid great pain

Because they have found peace where it resides

Music or the smell of good cooking may make people stop and enjoy

But words that point to the Tao seem boring and without flavor

When you listen for it, there is nothing to hear

When you look for it, there is nothing to see

Who you use it, it is inexhaustible"

This is Certified Organic Intelligence Art! Everything about this poster celebrates human creativity. It begins with a real person using good old-fashioned paper and pencil to create the entire piece. It’s then locally printed by a skilled artisan and carefully packaged by our team before being delivered to you. We sincerely thank you for your support!
