A Tiger Standoff Print

THE INSPIRATION BEHIND THE ART:

This print was first made in 2017 in a much larger and more complicated format. It was offered as a free gift only to people who got tattoos of my art and that was the only way to get it from me. It was not available for purchase with money. That version remains that way, although I have seen it posted on E-bay and other markets for purchase. 

This version is a bit different, and you can buy it with money. The words on this piece come from the Kalevala which is the Finnish epic poem that describes the beginning of the world. 

The original words are in Finnish and there are many translations that differ a great deal. I’ve sculpted the words just so, to fit my purposes. It’s a reminder to let go of grudges and be free of your own anger. I hope you enjoy it!

Incidentally, we still give free prints to anyone who gets any piece of my art tattooed on them. Just send a picture of the final tattoo to hello@ravizupa.com. We’ll give you a free print and one to your tattoo artist.
