THE INSPIRATION BEHIND THE ART:
This piece is inspired by my real-life duck named Bill. When I first bought my property, the previous owner already had the ducks. He told me he planned to kill them if I didn’t want them. That didn’t seem fair, so I decided to keep them, even though I had no interest in ducks—or any pets, really—before inheriting them.
The previous owner told me this particular duck was male, so we named him Bill. Later, someone saw Bill lay an egg. But by then it was too late—we already thought of Bill as “him,” so the name stuck.
Over time, something unexpected happened. One evening, before putting the ducks in their coop, Bill made a tiny little flight. We rewarded him with a treat, and he made a Pavlovian connection—so now he does his little flight trick every night before going in, earning a palmful of corn each time. Bill is a genius.
This is Certified Organic Intelligence Art! Everything about this poster celebrates human creativity. It begins with a real person using good old-fashioned paper and pencil to create the entire piece.
