THE INSPIRATION BEHIND THE ART:

This is a very old American Folk song. I love it.

Noam Chomsky once said that he listened to Lead Belly as a young man. It was a recommendation that I took very seriously. That’s where I first heard this song.

This song is really upsetting and beautiful.

Nirvana and Kurt Cobain helped explain how upsetting it is.
