THE INSPIRATION BEHIND THE ART:
Not everyone knows what Goat heads are (also called Puncturevines or Devil’s heads) because they live in a region where goat heads don’t grow. But those of you who do know what they are know the heart sinking horror that comes with the moment depicted in this print.
People who walk dogs in those regions also have to pull them out of thier pet’s paws from time to time.
Although the true evolutionary function is to catch a ride on the foot of a mammal and be deposited further away, they seem like a spike designed by nature with the purpose of ruining your bicycle tire. Nowadays there are precautions that you can take to protect your inner tube but that was not always the case.
