THE INSPIRATION BEHIND THE ART:
I’ve been rereading a lot of Kurt Vonnegut books lately. Vonnegut’s books were a major piece of my youth when I was really discovering how great books can be. It’s so interesting to move through them again now and see how different they are for me. “Sirens Of Titan” is the one that has changed the most in that time. I love that book so much more now than I did the first time I read it.
This new print includes text from “Cat’s Cradle.” Its a little poem/song that is in the holy Book Of Bokonon. Bokonon is a made up religion that the story centers around. This fictitious religion that Vonnegut has created has a very rich and convincing set of stories and rituals but is at times comforting and structured and is at others pure cynicism.
